Two times Eric Marc Ruthman lied about stage 4 cancer. Twice. The sad part is, people bought it. Because honestly, who would lie about cancer once, then twice? Sick, evil, manipulative people. Like Eric M. Ruthman. People who get off on sympathy. lied through his teeth to people who LEGITIMATELY HAD CANCER. Why? That’s the illness. . . the sickness of lying. . . the sickness of manipulating. . . the sickness of FAKING CANCER. Faking the effects. Faking the treatments. Fighting in solidarity with friends who were fighting their own REAL battles with cancer. Crying to everyone who would listen “my wife left me because I have stage 4 brain cancer!” And who wouldn’t believe E. M. Ruthman? I believed. So many others believed. Did you know you can pretend to be anywhere in the world just by “dropping the pin” on that location. Just type the name where you want to be. Try it. Even the smartest people think you have to physically be THERE. No. Not true. Pretend to be on top of the Eiffel Tower. Pretend to be sipping wine in Tuscany. Pretend to be skiing the Alps. Try it. Pretend. But really, what fun is that to a normal person? Unless you just want to play pretend.

Unfortunately people like Eric Marc Ruthman exist. And their main goal is getting over on you, or worse. It could happen to the smartest person on the planet. Why? Because we trust. We’re human. We want to believe people are basically good. But, if you watch shows like Dr. Phil, “The Con” series with Whoopi Goldberg, “Dirty John“, “Good on Paper“, “The Widower” series on Dateline, your eyes WILL open. There are evil, disgusting men and women out there who aren’t designed to care. They use “honesty is the best policy” as a doormat. They will use and abuse anyone or anything they come into contact with that can put money in their pockets without having to work for it. They simply see you as “prey”. They’re smart. They’ve been doing their lying and conning forever for them. It’s second nature, or probaby their first nature. They’re always “out of pocket” because of someone else’s error. Kind of like, my dog ate my wallet. Nah, they never had a wallet because their hands are always in someone else’s. Be smart. . . if you come into contact with E. M. Ruthman or any of his “creations” such as Mercer Oleander. . . RUN. Run and don’t look back.

    • Unlike the compulsive liar, pathological liars are near impossible to catch in the act. These people are excellent liars because they lie constantly and make stories up unnecessarily, and often, it becomes extremely difficult to distinguish the truth from false statements.
  • Pathological liars know how to be confident while lying and use their pathological lying trait as a defense mechanism (e.g. they fix their gaze upon you rather than looking away).
    • Some of the symptoms of a pathological liar are: they lie to gain something, they exaggerate things, they keep on changing their stories, and they live in a false sense of ‘reality.’ If confronted, they act defensive and never admit that they are liars. Lastly, they hold no value for truth.
